Thai Yoga Massage is an ancient Ayurvedic art that is the physical application of loving kindness. Also described as “assisted Hatha Yoga,” this whole-body massage is performed on a large padded mat on the floor while you are fully clothed. The practitioner moves you through a series of positions, similar to yoga poses, and applies pressure along subtle energy lines, similar to acupuncture meridians, using the palms of her hands, forearms, thumbs and – for deep pressure – her knees and feet.
Thai Yoga Massage brings many benefits including reduced muscle tension, pain reduction, improved circulation, as well as a boost to the immune system and metabolism. In addition to balancing the energies in the body, it also stimulates the relaxation response and calms the mind.
